Arthur Roberts Jr., 74, of Monessen, died Friday, March 26, 2010 in Monongahela Valley Hospital Inc.He was born in Monongahela on December 26, 1935, the son of the late Arthur Roberts Sr. and Kathleen Helliar Roberts. Art grew up in Monongahela and was a 1954 graduate of Monongahela High School. He retired from Weiss Meat Packing Co. in Webster, and later worked part time for the City of Monessen as a Constable, and a school crossing guard at Ninth St. and Summit Ave. Art was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Monessen, and had served with the U.S. Army from 1959 to 1962.He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Dorene (Zyski) Roberts of Monessen, his daughter and son-in-law, Holly and Joe Minno of Monessen, a sister and brother-in-law, Elizabeth and George Glenn of Swissvale, and by numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.Friends will be received on Monday from 1 to 3 pm and 6 to 8 pm in the Dalfonso-Billick Funeral Home Inc. and Cremation Services, 441 Reed Avenue Monessen, (724-684-8750). Services will be held on Tuesday, March 30, 2010, at 10:00 am in the funeral home, with Rev. Richard Merkner, Interim Pastor of St. Paul's Lutheran Church officiating.
