Anthony "Tony" V. Turcaso, 90, of Monessen, died Wednesday, October 24, 2007 in Marflaks Personal Care Home, Finleyville. He was born in Monessen on May 11, 1917, the son of the late Nicholas and Rose Pendolphi Turcaso. Mr. Turcaso was a life long resident of Monessen and was an active sportsman, having played softball for several Monessen teams. He enjoyed bowling, and belonged to many leagues at former Star Lanes and Lynnwood Lanes, and had also been a member of a dart league. He attended St. Paul's Lutheran Church with his daughter and son-in-law. He retired in 1979 from the Southwestern Railroad, having worked as a brakeman. He was a veteran of WW II, serving with the U.S. Army as a hydraulic specialist, having worked on aircraft in France, England, and Switzerland. He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Ruthann and John E. Kerestesi of Monessen, two grandsons, John C. Kerestesi and wife Kristin of Monessen, Joshua Kerestesi and wife Nicole of Ocala, FL, two great granddaughters, Paige Alexsis and Chloe Nicole Kerestesi, and by several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Johnny and Rudy Turcaso, and a sister Marie Restivo. Friends will be received on Friday Oct. 26th from 6 to 8:30 pm in the Dalfonso-Billick Funeral Home, Inc. and Cremation Services, 441 Reed Avenue Monessen, (724-684-8750). Services will be held in the funeral home following visitation at 8:30 pm on Friday. Pastor Christine Ingold, of St. Paul's Lutheran Church will officiate.
