Ann E. Matta, 88, of Monessen, died Monday, October 20, 2008 at the home of her daughter in Perry Twp.Shewas born in Monessen on May 2, 1920, the daughter of the late John and Barbara Pfiester Chackovics. She was a life long resident of Monessen, a member of Epiphany of Our Lord R. C. Church and its Epiphany Ladies, the Hungarian Beneficial Society, and was active at the Monessen Senior Center were she enjoyed playing bingo with her friends. She was retired from Bookvale Manufacturing Company, having worked as a inspector, and had also worked for Corning Glass in Charleroi. Ann was a loving mother and grandmother who was a great cook, and enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Daniel P. and Teresa Matta of Belle Vernon, two daughters and sons-in-law, Janey and Manuel Rodriguez of Perry Twp., Kathleen and Donald Wolf of Delaware, OH, eight grandchildren, Brian Wolf and wife Glenna, Greg and Michael Wolf, Alicia, Jeremy, and Noelle Matta, Chad Warfield and wife Renae, Matthew Warfield, and by nieces and nephews.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Paul T. Matta, a brother John, and by four sisters, Elizabeth Weibl, Barbara Darcy, Helen Matta, and Margaret Wasilewski..Friends will be received on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. in the Dalfonso-Billick Funeral Home Inc. and Cremation Services, 441 Reed Avenue Monessen, (724-684-8750).Services will be held on Thursday Oct. 23, 2008, beginning with a 9:30 am Blessing in the funeral home, followed by a 10:00 am Funeral Mass in Epiphany of Our Lord R. C. Church. Interment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery. The family suggests memorial contributions be made the Monessen Public Library or the American Diabetes Assoc., 300 Penn Center Blvd. Pittsburgh, PA 15235.
