Angelo Gigliotti, 95, of Monessen, died Thursday, March 31, 2011 in Thorpe's Personal Care Home.He was born in Nicastro, Italy on Sept. 2, 1915, the son of the late Luigi and Maria (Perri) Gigliotti. Angelo was a resident of Monessen most of his life and a member of Epiphany of Our Lord R. C. Church, the Italian Society of Mutual Aid, and a former member of the Sons of Italy. He retired from the Monessen Plant of Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Corp., having worked in the field fence department and the blooming mill. Angelo spent most of his time in the garden, loved to do canning, make sausage and wine, and enjoyed spending time with his family.He is survived by his four children, Anthony J. Gigliotti of Palm Beach Shores, FL, Gloria (Nick) Folino of Pittsburgh, Michael (Janice) Gigliotti of Belle Vernon, Joseph (Cynthia) Gigliotti of Monessen, eleven grandchildren, Laura Lee Gigliotti of Palm Beach Shores, FL, Lt. Col. David (Bridgette) Gigliotti of Washington D.C., Caroline (David) Behun of Pittsburgh, Nick (Lori) Folino of Peters Twp., Anthony (Kelly) Folino of Upper St. Clair, Michael (Angela) Folino of Upper St. Clair, Hannah and Luke Gigliotti of Belle Vernon, Allysa, Mariea, and Joseph P. Gigliotti, all of Monessen, eigth great grandchildren, two brothers, Frank (Mary) Gigliotti of Monessen, Louis Gigliotti of Monessen, three sisters-in-law, Marie DeVita, Antoinette (Richard) Roberto, and Patricia Chirumbolo, all of Pittsburgh, and by numerous nieces and nephews.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Angela (Chirumbolo) Gigliotti, and two brothers, Antonio and Fred Gigliotti, and an infant brother.Friends will be received on Saturday April 2nd from 6 to 8 pm, and on Sunday April 3rd from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm in the Dalfonso-Billick Funeral Home Inc. and Cremation Services, 441 Reed Avenue Monessen, (724-684-8750).Services will be held on Monday, April 4, 2011, beginning with a 9:30 am Blessing in the funeral home, followed by a 10:00 am Funeral Mass in Epiphany of Our Lord R. C. Church. Entombment will follow in Grandview Cemetery Mausoleum, Monessen. The Knights of Columbus Council 954 will conduct a prayer service on Saturday at 7:00 pm in the funeral home.
