Andrew C. Imbrescia, 93, of Monessen, was called to serve in the Kingdom of the Heavenly Father on Thursday, November 21, 2013.
He was born in Monessen on February 24, 1920, the son of the late Joseph and Philomena Pignotti Imbrescia Sr. Andy was a lifelong resident of Monessen, a 1938 graduate of Monessen High School and a veteran of WWII, having served with the U.S. Army's 907th Air Engineer Squadron in Northern France and the Rhineland. He was a member of Epiphany of Our Lord Roman Catholic Church, M.A.R.S. and a former member of the Ravens Club. He retired in 1987 from the Mon Valley Career and Technology Center in Speers, and had previously worked for the former Page Steel and Wire Company in Monessen.
He is survived by two sons, Jeffrey D. Imbrescia and companion Carrie Holman of Monessen, Kevin Imbrescia of Scottdale, four grandchildren, Janelle, Julian, Kory, and Kyle Imbrescia, a brother, Joseph (Doreen) Imbrescia of Great Falls, Montana, a sister, Rose (Imbrescia) Romasco of Port Orange, FL, and by several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Mona Ruth (Phillippi) Imbrescia, a sister, Edith (Imbrescia) Caputo, and by a brother Albert Imbrescia.
Friends will be received in the Dalfonso-Billick Funeral Home Inc. and Cremation Services, 441 Reed Ave. Monessen, on Sunday Nov. 24, 2013 from 2 to 4 pm and 6 to 8 pm. Services will be held on Monday, November 25, 2013, beginning with a 9:30 am Blessing in the funeral home, followed by a 10:00 am Funeral Mass in Epiphany of Our Lord Church. Interment will follow in Grandview Cemetery, Monessen.
