Alfred J. Ulens, 91, of Monessen, died Wednesday August 17, 2016 in Monongahela Valley Hospital Inc. He was born on October 9, 1924 in Lover, PA, the son of the late Joseph and Blanche Verkleeren Ulens. Alfred was a member of the Epiphany of Our Lord Roman Catholic Church and he served his country during WW II with the U.S. Army Corp of Engineers. He had worked for Corning Glass, American Chain and Cable Pages Division, and retired from Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel, Allenport Plant. Surviving are his wife of 67 years Anna (Tkach) Ulens, son Robert (Amy) Ulens of Monessen, two daughters, Barbara (Robert) Troilo of Monessen, Beverly (William) Clark of Fallowfield Twp.; six grandchildren, Michele (Thomas) Ashcraft, Kelly (Chad) Jampedro, Amanda (Anthony) Vingas, Justin Troilo, Breann Clark, Bayley Clark; two great grandchildren, Rocco & Mia Jampedro; and by nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son Alfred M. Ulens and by four sisters, Elsie and Sylvia Ulens, Josephine Raisbeck, and Zoe Beres. Friends will be received on Friday August 19, 2016 from 2:00 to 4:00 pm and from 6:00 to 8:00 pm in Dalfonso-Billick Funeral Home Inc. and Cremation Services, 441 Reed Avenue, Monessen. Services will be held on Saturday August 20, 2016 beginning with a 9:30 am Blessing Service in the funeral home, followed by a 10:00 am Funeral Mass in Epiphany of Our Lord Church with Fr. Michael J.
