Albert Romasco, 88, of Monessen, died Tuesday, May 29, 2007 in Canonsburg General Hospital.He was born in Monessen on September 7, 1918, the son of the late Justin Romasco and Mary Del Rosso Romasco Palanzo.Mr. Romasco was a 1936 graduate of Monessen High School, received his Bachelor Degree of Science Education f rom Geroge Washington University, and his Masters Degree in Science Education from University of Indiana. He taught school in Maryland for five years, and then spent the next 27 years teaching at the Monessen Junior/Senior High School, retiring in 1978. For 25 of those years he served as assistant football coach with the Greyhounds under head Coach Joe Gladys. He was a member of Epiphany of Our Lord R. C. Church, Knights of Columbus Council 954, Italian-American Heritage Society, and the Retired Teachers Union, all of Monessen. He was a veteran of WW II, having served with the U.S. Coast Guard from 1943 until 1946. .He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Adele Lena Romasco, a son, Justin Santo Romasco of Monessen, a a daughter and son-in-law, Adele Maria and John Radacsy of Wexford, a granddaughter, Kristin Radacsy of Wexford, a grandson, John J. Radacsy and wife Cindi of Knoxville, TN, a great grandson, Daniel Radacsy, and several nieces and nephews.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his step father, Santo Palanzo, a brother, Anthony Romasco, four stepbrothers, Paul, Tony, William, and Edward Palanzo, a sister, Pauline Carollo..Friends will be received on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM. in the Dalfonso-Billick Funeral Home, Inc. 441 Reed Avenue Monessen, (724-684-8750).Services will be held on Saturday June 2, 2007, beginning with a 9:30 AM Blessing in the funeral home, followed by a 10:00 AM Funeral Mass in the Epiphany of Our Lord R. C. Church. Interment will follow in Mon Valley Memorial Park, Donora. The Knights of Columbus Council 954 will conduct a prayer service on Friday evening at 8:00 PM in the funeral home.
