Agnes Popovich

Agnes Popovich, 104, of Monessen, passed away on Wednesday, November 6, 2024 in Residence at Hilltop. She was born on February 17, 1920 in Monessen, the daughter of the late John and Mary (Matej) Bogdan. She was a member of St. Mary Byzantine Catholic Church and their Ladies Guild, which she ran for many years. She worked as an administrator for Brookevale Manufacturing Co. Inc. She is survived by her, grandson, Jonathan Franklin Popovich of Miami, FL and his Fiancée Judy Yu Croxson of London, England; great-grandchildren, Andrew and Julia Popovich. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband John Popovich, US Army Veteran and Pittsburgh Steeler alumni; her son John James Popovich, daughter-in-law Shirley Warholic Popovich; and her siblings, George Bogdan, Helen Ezolt, Andrew Bogdan, Mildred Cole, Cyril Bogdan, John Bogdan, Mary Moore, Margaret Mahoney, and Anne Calesky. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Friends will be received Wednesday, November 13, 2024 from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm and from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm in the Dalfonso-Billick Funeral Home Inc. and Cremation Services, 441 Reed Avenue, Monessen. Services will be held on Thursday, November 14, 2024, beginning with a Panachida at 9:30 am in the funeral home, followed by Funeral Services at 10:00 am in St. Mary Byzantine Catholic Church with Fr. Stephen Wahal officiating. Interment will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery. A Rosary Service will take place at 2:00 pm on Wednesday.
