Adela E. Alvarez

Adela E. Alvarez, 83, of Monessen, passed away on Saturday March 16, 2019 in Jefferson Hospital. She was born on March 26, 1935 in Monessen, the daughter of the late Jose and Adela (Perez) Alvarez. Adela was a life long resident of Monessen and a 1953 graduate of Monessen High School. She had worked for the former G. C. Murphy Company, Fox Grocery Company, and retired from Watterau Inc. Adela was a member of Epiphany of Our Lord Church and was an active member of the Monessen community. She is survived by her sister Gloria Vasunda of Carroll Twp., a brother and sister-in-law, Antonio "Tony" and Joyce Alvarez of Rostraver Twp.; sister-in-law, Lena Alvarez of Monessen, and by numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Joseph "Speed" Alvarez and Herman Alvarez, and by a sister Marie Alvarez Mull. Friends will be received in Dalfonso-Billick Funeral Home Inc. and Cremation Services, 441 Reed Ave. Monessen, on Tuesday from 2 to 4 pm and from 6 to 8 pm. Services will be held on Wednesday March 20, 2019 beginning with a 9:30 am Blessing in the funeral home followed by a 10:00 am Funeral Mass in Epiphany of Our Lord Church, 44 Pennsylvania Blvd. Monessen, with Rev.
